The piece belongs to the imaginative orbit of Harry Martinson’s Aniara: a work shaped by displacement, irreversible departure, and what remains of humanity when the structures that once gave life direction can no longer be recovered. It approaches that territory through contemporary pop form rather than retelling Martinson’s poem.
The same constellation of questions is developed in a dramatic work currently under award consideration. Its title and authorship remain withheld. The dramatic work and this music project are separate pieces, but they share a concern with what people carry when return is no longer possible.
